ABOUT
"Linda began working with clay in 2012. Previous to that, she worked as a painter and printmaker, disciplines studied formally through a UofC Fine Arts program, numerous classes at AUArts, RDC, MISSA, and international courses. This background brings a graphic quality and painterly approach to her ceramics.
Linda’s work is primarily figurative and narrative, and often reveals her love for folk art.
Her work is informed by contemporary concepts of surface and pattern and shows the influence of Neoimpressionism.
ARTIST STATEMENT
The honesty, good nature, and playfulness of Folk Art inspires me. My work is meant to celebrate the joy found in everyday life, and to bring pleasure, accessibility, and whimsy into the domestic realm. I make ceramics I would like to use or see in my own home.
