ABOUT
Born in Ontario, Canada in 1985, Jaan Andres Poldaas began making glass at the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2004, receiving a BFA and the ACAD Board of Governors awards for glass in 2007. Andres has trained, exhibited and taught internationally in Australia, China and the United States. He currently lives and works as a glass artist in Vancouver, British Columbia.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I love to work with glass- I ask it to do simple elegant tricks to imply lofty existential ideas. My interests include the recording of time, the texture of acceleration and the juxtaposition of the ancient, the formal and the futuristic.
