Lorna Moffat is a Scottish textile artist and a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art in 1987. She has both honours and post graduate degrees in textile design. In 1987 she set up her small business making one of a kind textiles for the home and also created large scale permanent textile installations for public buildings around the UK. Lorna has sold her stitched textiles in department stores eg. Liberty in London, Bergdorf Goodman and ABC carpet and home in New York. Leaving Scotland in 2002, Lorna, her geologist husband and their 2 children travelled around the world until finally settling in Vancouver in 2012. Lorna has been an active member of the Circle Craft coop, serving on the board of directors and also being part of the selection committee for the coop. her work can be found in the Vancouver Art Gallery store, the Catching Stars Gallery on Bowen Island and in the circle craft store. She runs art camps from her studio in North Vancouver, gives talks, demonstrations and runs workshops for textile groups. Recently, Lorna completed an art residency in Port Moody Middle School of the Arts, creating a large textile installation based on the theme of identity and belonging, using recycled materials and plastics.
