Giosi Lammirato

Jewellery from Vancouver

Originally from Calgary born the 3rd daughter of Italian immigrant parents, I moved to Vancouver in 1982 where I finally went to art school at Langara College in 1988 and then to Jewelry Art and Design in 1990 also in Vancouver. I graduated from both programs with honors and student awards in drawing and design. What drew me into jewelry making was the compactness of the medium which made the exploration vast in possibilities and ideas as well the practicality of it in terms of generating income and then working with precious metals and gemstones and all of the techniques to explore, it was so exciting! In 2006 I received a scholarship from Circle Craft where I went to Florence Italy and did an intensive 1 month program in Contemporary jewelry and Design. In this program I largely explored enameling.
