ABOUT
Jessica de Haas creates wearable and interior art using the ancient art form of felting. She hand dyes her materials and creates pieces that will stand the test of time.
ARTIST STATEMENT
My work blurs the line between art, craft and fashion. For the past twenty years I have created wearable art using hand dyed and hand made felt, under the label Funk Shui Felt. Sustainability is important to me and I prioritize natural materials and a zero waste studio practice. I am inspired by the tactile process and the metamorphosis of ordinary materials into something extraordinary. Through my artwork, I aim to create timeless pieces that hold a meaning as unique as the individual that may wear, look at, or touch them.
