Giosi Lammirato has diplomas in both painting and jewellery, and has been working as a multi-media artist in her Vancouver-based studio since 1991.
Using materials such as silver, gold and copper combined with precious and semi-precious gems, Giosi’s techniques include anything from fabrication and wax-casting to smithing and engraving. Giosi possesses an eclectic flair for design, and she has developed several lines of jewellery along her one-of-a-kind wearable art pieces.
“I like to think of jewellery as miniature sculpture, keeping in mind that metal is actually a liquid. This concept leaves me open to the endless possibilities of manipulating the material. My work is very process-oriented therefore I work from elements that I make readily available, creating an environment where serendipity can flourish.”
