ABOUT
I wear many hats, but glassblower has been a long running favourite. My love for glassblowing continues to grow every day. The excitement I feel when seeing an object take shape from molten glass is just as intense now as it was the first time I experienced the art form of glassblowing more than 18 years ago. Before going solo, I had worked in a few glassblowing studios—a gamut of experience that allowed me to hone my craft. I now operate my own small business, Tara Blown Glass. I offer a selection of home decor, cremation memorial keepsakes and sculptural work. I have also recently become the Studio Manager at Terminal City Glass Co-op where I can utilize my experience with studio equipment and maintenance. With life and glass, I am driven by the idea that happiness can be chosen — that a sense of humour brings about a cheerful, lighthearted attitude and the people, environment and things we choose to surround ourselves with contribute to our well-being. I strive to produce art that is uplifting, visually pleasing and functionally beautiful.
