Picturesque, tranquil, delightful, these are words that I hear when people visit my oceanfront studio in Cobble Hill on beautiful Vancouver Island. Originally from Ontario, we were lured to our studios here in 1988.
Ongoing curiosity, experimentation and observation have been the cornerstones of creativity for me throughout 25 years of claywork. My environmental and socialconsciousness are reflected in my choice of low-fired clay, the affordability of my one-of-a-kind pieces and the stories the pieces themselves tell.
The passage of time and its' relativity, has always been a fascination for me and much of my work as a potter has been spent producing clay clocks. Each one experiments with abstract and figurative design using stamps, layers of colour and rich metallic finishes to produce rich and textured surfaces.
