Christine was born in Vancouver and studied art at UBC, from where she received her Bachelor of Art Education in 1980. She taught high school briefly, and in 1983 she began her studies at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design. There she studied drawing and painting and participated in several group and two women exhibitions.
In 1989, Christine formed her own company, Seigneuret Artware Inc., and employed studio staff to help her in producing a wide range of garments and accessories. Recently, Seigneuret expanded her line to include elaborately hand-painted and appliqued denim jackets and luxuriously large silk wraps.
Silk scarves depicting whales, fish, horses, and flowers were featured in Osaka, Japan at the World's Fair Expo '89. Christine has also produced commissioned work for the BC Provincial Government, as well as for both individuals and public organizations including Greenpeace.
